Question 1

How much does a resin driveway cost in Bromley?

Accepted Answer

Resin driveway cost depends on the size of the area, the state of the existing base, the aggregate you choose and access. Call us for a free survey and written quote.

Question 2

Do I need planning permission for a resin driveway?

Accepted Answer

For a front garden, government guidance says you generally do not need planning permission if the new surface is permeable or rainwater drains to a lawn or border. Resin bound surfacing on a suitable permeable base is designed to let water through. Rules differ for listed buildings, conservation areas and flats, so check with Bromley Council if unsure. A new dropped kerb needs separate council approval.

Question 3

What is the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?

Accepted Answer

Resin bound mixes the stone and resin together before laying, giving a smooth, permeable surface. Resin bonded scatters stone onto a resin layer, which gives a rougher finish and is not permeable.

Question 4

Can you lay resin over my existing driveway?

Accepted Answer

Often, if the existing tarmac or concrete is sound and well drained. We check this at the survey and tell you if a new base is needed.

Question 5

Most domestic driveways take a short number of days, depending on size and groundwork. We confirm timings at the survey.
